Our Setting

Ruby, Alaska
isn't on every map

That's the point. Ruby sits along the Yukon River — a community of roughly 150 people, surrounded by boreal forest and the kind of quiet that reorders your sense of time. Wild Iris is a short walk from the river and the heart of town.

We're four hours from Fairbanks by road. The drive is part of the experience — you'll feel the world open up behind you and close down in front.

We drove up from Fairbanks on a whim and stayed three nights instead of one. The rooms are beautiful, the food is extraordinary, and the silence — I've never experienced silence like this. It felt like the whole world had stepped aside.
